. In 1974 , the governorate of Sinai has been considered a unit of the local government by the Republic Decision number 811 and general Mohammad Abd El-Moneim Al-qaramany was the governer . General Ibrahem Foad Nassar has followed him in the same position in 1976 .

. The years of 1977 , was the year of peace initiation and the visit of the late president Anwar Al-Sadat to Jerusalem .

. Sinai has been divided into two governorates: North of Sinai and South of Sinai according to the republic decision number 84 in 1979 , and general fareed Ezzat Wahba the first governorate of South of Sinai .

. The date of 19th of november in 1979 was the date of the Israelian leaving to Saint Catherine and Al- Toor vally . That's why this is considered the national occasion of the governorate .

. This date has been changed to 19th of March 1979 when Taba - the last place of the occupied land - has been restored.

. Since the establishment of the governorate , the administrative structure has been set followed by some modifications arriving to the final one that has been accepted by the decission number 297/1944 in 12th of november 1944.
